Infrared Saunas

Infrared therapy utilises infrared heaters that emit infrared light, experienced as radiant heat which is absorbed by the skin. It differs from the traditional sauna in that it does not heat the body primarily by conduction and convection from the heated air and by radiation of the heated surfaces in the sauna. As such, an infrared sauna is not considered a traditional sauna in a strict sense, but it nevertheless delivers the numerous benefits of a traditional sauna.
As your session begins and your core body temperature begins to rise, a chain reaction begins. Heat causes your body to sweat intensely, drawing out deeply embedded dead skin cells and impurities, leaving your skin clear, supple and glowing.
Nordic Timber
Nordic is able to supply a range of timbers, the ones listed are only a small sample of what is possible. All Nordic timber is slowly grown in the forests of northern Europe, and then harvested in a sustainable manner ensuring the survival of the forests. No matter which timber you choose, it will come from an FSC approved source. Nordic can also supply many specialist timbers such as Kelo. Thermo Treated Wood
We also provide Thermo-Treated Wood – this is wood that has been heated to 400F (in special conditions). Steam ensures that the wood does not crack and once it comes out of the heat chamber it is more durable, weather resistant and less prone to warping. It is a new breed of material that allows for resistance and stability – as the wood lasts much longer than untreated wood it is also ecologically friendly. Heaters
Nordic offers infrared emitters for our infrared cabins. They use Long-wave IR-C, IR-B & IR-A. These are visible within the sauna and installed by themselves. Ceramic, magnesium & quartz units are all available.

Salt Walls
Your bespoke sauna can be enhanced with a stunning salt wall and come fully backlit and give all the health benefits associate with a salt atmosphere.
From the foothills of the Himalayas, the glistening crystals of our therapeutic salt bricks carry an ancient story. Formed millions of years ago from ancient seas, they are rich in purity and minerals and glow like exotic jewels.
Feature Walls
Your bespoke sauna can be enhanced with a stunning feature wall, both glass printed picture walls and Juniper feature walls are available.
Glass walls can be printed with a logo, picture or landscape of your choice.
A Juniper wall or an alternative wood can be added to stunning effect, the choice is limitless.
Lighting & Sound
Nordic can offer various feature lighting systems that make use of cutting edge LED technology to enhance your sauna. LED’s offer flicker free colour change across the complete colour spectrum. The lights can be hidden in the ceiling, flush to the surface – creating a twinkling starry effect or concealed in the wall / under the benching.
The lighting in your bespoke sauna can be tailored to suit your individual needs and can be combined with smart home technology.
