The life span of the cylinders depends upon usage and the hardness of the water. This can be anything from three months to nine months, with an average of 6 months when used commercially.
The production of steam in hard water areas has always been accompanied by heavy chalk deposits within the generator, causing the need for frequent and expensive maintenance to remove them.
With the Nordic steam generator the deposits need not be removed, the cylinder can simply be replaced when the depth of deposits prevents further steam generation.
